Import teams (Director)

If you are using registration outside of Exposure you can import teams into our system using our Import Template.  The import template can be downloaded from the Import page found in multiple sections or below.

Below you will find those sections and how they import teams.  Each of the import templates will either create new divisions, team or players or update a team or player in an existing division or existing team.

The update only occurs when a Division Name, Team Name, or Player Name matches or the External ID of the Team or Player.  No deletes occur with the import.

1. Event Team Import - Import all teams, divisions, pools, scheduling requests and more. 
   
   1. Click Events in side menu
   2. Click Event Name
   3. Click Teams in side menu
   4. Click Import button
   5. Download Import Template file and enter teams
   6. Select Type of Default
   7. Select Browse and find completed Import Template file
   8. Click Import button

   If divisions are already available and the Division Name in the import file matches, that team will be placed in that division.  If the Team Name matches an existing team in a division or External Team ID column, it will update that team details.
   
   
2. Division Team Import - Import all teams into an existing division. 
   
   1. Click Events in side menu
   2. Click Event Name
   3. Click Divisions in side menu
   4. Click Division Name
   5. Click Teams in side menu
   6. Click Import button
   7. Download Import Template file and enter teams
   8. Select Type of Default
   9. Select Browse and find completed Import Template file
   10. Click Import button

   If the Team Name matches an existing team in a division or External Team ID column, it will update that team details.
   
   
3. Event Division/Team/Player Import - Import all divisions, teams and players.  
   
   1. Click Events in side menu
   2. Click Event Name
   3. Click Teams in side menu
   4. Click Players in side menu
   5. Click Import button
   6. Download Import Template file and enter teams
   7. Select Type of Default
   8. Select Browse and find completed Import Template file
   9. Click Import button

   If a division or a team in a division is already available and the Division Name and Team Name for that player in the import file matches, that player will be placed on that team roster in that division, otherwise the division and team will be automatically created.  This will also skip duplicates if found.
   
   Note: This will only import the team name and no other data for a team.  If you want to import more data for a team like say a primary contact first import the teams from #1 and #2 first, then do #3 but make sure the division and team name in the player import file of #3 match what you did from #1 or #2.
