Exposure offers a way to post scores, registrations and other type of alerts straight to your Twitter account. However, our free option can hit a rate limit where tweets fail to post. To get around this you can create your own Twitter Developer Account and Twitter App. This is all free and increases your rate limit for only your Tweets instead of everyone on Exposure. Follow the steps below to implement your own Twitter app.
-
Login and create your own Twitter Developer account. The Twitter developer account login should be under the Twitter business account and not a personal Twitter account.
- Once logged in be sure to choose the Basic option and Sign up for Free Account. There are paid options so don't select them unless you want to.
- Accept the Developer agreement & policy. You can use the following text for the use cases, accept all the terms with the checkboxes, then click Submit.
Will post score results of each game, team or individual registrations for events, along with champions of each division at the end of an event. Champion tweets will have the format of "Congratulations to Team South! The Nationals 2014/2015 Champions!".

-
Under Settings click the black Edit button. Rename your app to something appropriate like your company name. Upload a valid logo. Enter a description of your choice or use the text below. Click Save once done.

The Callback URI / Redirect URL is very important and must link to our site in the following format. Below you will see we are linking to the lacrosse site. To verify what site you are on, go back to our site and verify the URL in the web browser. If it was the basketball site then lacrosse would be replaced with basketball. If this was say rugby then it would be our default url (https://exposureevents.com). Click Save once done and confirm changes with Yes.
Note: If you have multiple sports, then click the + Add another URI / URL and put another appropriate sport url.
