Exposure offers a number of ways to import certain data into the platform. This is great for large amounts of data or similar data that must be formatted in programs like Excel or Google Sheets before being worked with in Exposure. This not only saves time during any type of setup it could be a consistent strategy for future imports. Below are some rules for any import:
- Column Order does not matter, only Column Header Name
- Optional Columns can be removed if not needed
- Files must be CSV (Comma Seperated Values) format, not Excel (xls, xlxs)
- All import pages contain available columns, data type, default values, column name availability, required fields and descriptions. Choose the Type of Default to see the table appear at the bottom.
- All import pages also contain a downloadable Import Template, with a sample data row, that should be removed before import.
- Validate button will validate data in the file on import pages
- Deletes never occur on any imports, just creates and some updates
Below you will find certain sections to allow imports:
Events Import
Use this option if you have quite a number of events with similar data that can be tweaked in a CSV editor like Excel or Google Sheets. Recommended for 5 or more events during a season. Below you will find the location to import events.
- Click Dashboard or Events in side menu
- Click + Import button in action bar
- Choose Type from dropdown
- Click Browse button to find file on computer
- Click Import button
If a second import is done, events will match on event name, date, city and location and overwrite any data in those events with the ones from the import file.
Teams Import
Use this option if you have quite a number of teams and divisions and the best way to configure them is using a CSV editor like Excel or Google Sheets. You can read more about team import options from our Import Teams article.
Exposure also offers NCAA Roster file import for NCAA certified events, but a division column will need to be included.
Roster Import
Use this option if you have a roster or rosters and the best way to configure them is using a CSV editor like Excel or Google Sheets. You can read more about roster import options from our Import Rosters article.

Scheduling Requests Import
Use this option if you want to follow our restriction import format for event team import using a CSV editor like Excel or Google Sheets. You can read more about restriction import from our Import Restrictions article.
Venues Import
Use this option if you have a large number of venues and/or courts, fields or rinks to import quickly. Below you will find the location to import events.
- Click Venues in side menu
- Click + Import button in action bar
- Choose Type from dropdown
- Click Browse button to find file on computer
- Click Import button

If a second import is done, venues will match on name, city and state/region and overwrite any data in those events with the ones from the import file.
