Exposure offers a number of ways to create templates so certain entities can be reused. These include Brackets, Divisions, and Event Schedules. To view Division or Event templates already built-in or created by a director follow the steps below.
- Click Settings in side menu
- Click Templates in side menu
- Click Template Name
- Edit custom template fields and click Save button
Brackets
Brackets currently have built-in templates that can be found when creating a new bracket. We offer quite a number of popular templates already, but you can also modify them after choosing one. Brackets can't be saved as a custom template, but they can be copied from a previous division.
Divisions
Division Templates can have Pools, Pool Games, Brackets, and/or Teams saved within a template. To create a custom division template follow the instructions below.
- Click Events in side menu
- Click Event Name
- Click Divisions in side menu
- Click Division Name
- Click + Template button in action bar
- Fill out fields and click Save button. Be descriptive in Name and Description fields.
Divisions can have a template applied to them from either a saved custom template or built-in template. To apply a template to a division follow the steps below.
- Click Events in side menu
- Click Event Name
- Click Divisions in side menu
- Click Division Name or + Division button
- Choose template from Apply Template dropdown
- Click Save button
Below are some notes on applying division templates.
- Existing divisions can't have existing pools or brackets.
- If a template contains teams, those teams will be added to the division, there is no updating existing teams in a division.
Event Schedules
Event Templates can have Venues, Schedule Grids, Pools, Pool Games, Brackets and/or Teams saved within a template. To create a custom event template follow the instructions below.
- Click Events in side menu
- Click Event Name
- Click Schedule in side menu
- Click + Template button in action bar
- Fill out fields and click Save button. Be descriptive in Name and Description fields.
Event schedules can have a template applied to them from only a saved custom template. To apply a template to an event schedule follow the steps below.
- Click Events in side menu
- Click Event Name
- Click Schedule in side menu
- Click Copy button in action bar
- Choose Copy From Template from Type dropdown and choose Template
- Click Save button
Note: Saving teams within a template will only save the Team Name and External Team ID
Below are some notes on applying event templates to new or existing schedules.
- Divisions found in a template will create a new division and won't update any existing one.
- Venues found in a template will add or update existing event venues found within the event.
- If an existing Schedule Grid is already created then any new venues or grid games will be appended to the new grid. If an existing game is already schedule, then the templated game will go to the Unscheduled games section.
Event schedule templates can be used for advanced scenarios also, like only saving for a certain number of venues, or an empty grid. If doesn't have to just be all available options.
